Copyright & Takedown Process

Copyright complaints

If you believe content on ReelRoots infringes your copyright, submit a complaint to — [designated agent contact to be added] — including: (1) identification of the copyrighted work, (2) identification of the infringing material and its location on ReelRoots (a profile, film, or product URL), (3) your contact information, and (4) a statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized.

Takedown requests

Upon receiving a valid complaint, ReelRoots will review it and may remove or restrict access to the reported content (via the admin dashboard's content removal tools) while the dispute is resolved.

Unauthorized content

Users may also flag unauthorized or stolen content directly through the Report feature on any film or product page, selecting “Stolen content” as the reason. Reports are reviewed in the admin reports queue.

Trademark complaints

Trademark complaints follow the same process as copyright complaints — submit to the designated contact with identification of the mark, the allegedly infringing use, and your contact information.

Repeat infringer policy

Accounts found to have repeatedly infringed the rights of others will be suspended or terminated, per the Terms of Service's account termination section.
